Book release day: It’s out!

Today is the day that Saddle Road Press officially releases How Is Travel a Folded Form?, my hybrid book…

…based on the travel accounts of the 19th-century British adventurer, Isabella Bird.

In the book, Isabella and a modern narrator journey together through the American West, interrogating tourism, pioneering,  photography, women’s work, landscapes, and the meaning of water. I had fun not only wandering through these topics but playing with form as I went–is this fiction? poetry? a strange sort of essay? and what is “The Reader” doing in these pages, anyway?–and SRP’s Don Mitchell worked hard to realize my concept in his design.

Here’s a sneak preview of how it looks and here is an excerpt.

If you’re intrigued, here’s the SRP page with links to Indie Bound, Powell’s, Amazon and B&N. Or just contact me–anyone who buys the book directly from me will get my new chapbook, Spinning Pins, as a bonus, while they last.

I’ll be working to set up readings from this book–stay tuned!
